The sexual revolution of the past three decades, partially provoke by the challenge of HIV, has touched every aspects of our lives from religion, to marriage, to politics. Traditional sexual attitudes and mores are becomingly more openly challenged, and the workplace has not been left unscathed. The workplace has become like a second village, a place individuals spend most of their working hours. In many cases, work colleagues know more details about the daily routines and habits, than do family and close friends. Together with this fact, consider that the Human Resource department, if they are good at what they do, will actually be bringing people together who have common views, similar interests and comparable or compatible backgrounds. So while the intention is NOT to put potential romantic partners together, the very process of finding a good staff team, is also an accidental screening for romantic compatibility. People don’t leave their sexuality at the door, just before they enter the work space, hence it makes sense to understand how to manage this aspect of life, rather that fight against the inevitable.
